  • In case of EMERGENCY

I hope it is not necessary, but should you have an emergency during your holiday you will find the most important information listed here:

    Emergency number : 1-1-2 (emergencia)

For police, fire brigade and ambulance. Please note, if you call this number, your phone number will automatically be blocked for 2 hours, so you will not be able to make phonecalls and therefore remain reachable by phone for the emergency services.

    Hospital (Hospitál)

Depending on the type of insurance you have, you will either be taken to the San Roque hospital in Meloneras or to the Insular in Las Palmas (the state hospital).

    Doctor (Médico)

There are several private clinics in every tourist resort. You can go here to see a doctor. I dare not really recommend a clinic (opinions are strongly divided) but to give you an address anyway:

    Clinica Las Palmeras

    Playa del inglés : Av. de Tenerife, 24, 35100 Gran Canaria, Las Palmas. Telephone: (+34) 928 763 366 / 928 762 366

    Maspalomas Avda. T.O, Av. Touroperador Neckermann, 22, 35100 Maspalomas, Las Palmas Phone +34) 928 763 366 / 928 762 366

Puerto de Mogán Pasaje el Paraíso 8, 35138 Mogán, Las Palmas. Telephone (+34) 928 565 090

Private consultations are expensive, and must be paid for directly. Minimum cost €150 - Always ask for receipts/invoices for your travel insurance, where you can claim the costs.

    Dentist (Dentista)

To visit the dentist, it is best to go to a private clinic. For example Dental Clinic Maya, C. Lanzarote, 41, 35100 in San Fernando Telephone number: + 34 928 76 32 80. There is a 24-hour service in Las Palmas : CLinica Dental Geo: C. León y Castillo, 280 Esquina, 35005 Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, Las Palmas + 34 928 23 00 02 or mobile phone: +34 66155 10 03

    Pharmacy (Farmacia)

Recognisable by a sign with a green cross, often open all day. To see which pharmacy you can go to on weekends or public holidays, use this website. (Buscar por municipio: for Playa del ingés and Maspalomas search for San Bartolomé de Tirajana) Weekend/emergency services are also indicated on the door of each pharmacy.
