Of course, you can enjoy eating out in Gran Canaria. There are a lot of restaurants with a great variety of food.
Tastes differ, of course, so here is a list of my favorite restaurants (and those of my children). The price indication is based on local prices, so you might find an expensive restaurant (€€€) still cheap.

Very good Italian restaurant in Maspalomas. Everything is home made. Dishes are different and really delicious.
Cabaña Park (by car/taxi) €€ - €€€
On the road to Palmitos Park you will find this nice grill restaurant on your left. You can sit outside in the patio when it is not too cold. Every Thursday and Saturday after 19:00 hrs you can enjoy local live guitar music. There is a bouncy castle for the kids and a small playground. Very child friendly!
Aloha Hamburger Bar €
Very good burgers and I just LOVE the sweet potato fries. Avenida de Tirajana 19 in Playa del Inglés. Nice to sit on the terrace, also great cocktails!
Sunset Bay €€-€€
Singapore/azian restaurant. Situated on the promenade in Playa del Inglés. Beautiful view and delicious food, from wok dishes to croquettes. The chicken in teriyaki sauce and the flambéed prawns are my favorites!
La Mesón del Cordero € - €€
Funnily enough, there are very few Canarian tapas restaurants. But this restaurant, on the avenida de Tirajana en Playa del Inglés, is good and not expensive. Excellent local food, nice atmosphere and tasty!
Bar El Centro (by car) €
Located in Aguïmes, in the ravine "Guayadeque", you will find the cave restaurant "Bar El Centro". Typical Canarias dishes and a great atmosphere! There are 3 cave restaurants, the 1st is very small with only a few tapas. The 3rd one is on the end of the road, but my favorite is the 2nd Bar El Centro. But it's definitely worth it to drive to the last restaurant, park and take a walk around the mountain. Magnificent views!
Restaurant Adio Mare €€ - €€€
A very good Italian restaurant at the top of the shopping centre of San Agustin. Or in San Fernando Calle Plácido Domingo 5. It is best to make reservations at tel: 928 778 924 (San Agustin) or 928 50 70 27 for San Fernando
Sakura III €€ - €€€
In Playa del Inglès, on Avenida de Tirajana you’ll find the Japanese restaurant Sakura III. (No I and II are located in the capital Las Palmas). Delicious sushi and sashimi. You can sit privately in a real Japanese room (shoes off), or at the eating bar in the back, with the chef, rr just at a table on chairs in the restaurant or outside on the terrace.
Hard Rock Café €€€
Near the beach in Playa del Inglés, you will find the famous Hard Rock Café. I was there the other day with a good friend, and there was a U2 tribute. I really loved the atmosphere, eating while having a great show. Something different!
Melenara (by car) €
In Telde, in the town of Melenara, nice restaurants with a terrace near the beach. There is a playground in front of the restaurants, quite handy for mom and dad :). At the boat roundabout, turn right then drive on to a vacant lot on your left, were you can park.
